Sequenced for learning, not training-package order: start with yourself, understand diversity and the law, then put respect into practice.
You cannot work inclusively with others until you understand your own lens. Covers your own culture, unconscious bias, the limits of your knowledge, reflective practice (Johari Window), and turning insight into action.
Defines diversity, inclusion and equity; the dimensions of diversity; the political, social, economic and cultural shape of diversity in Australia; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and the needs of marginalised groups.
The legal and ethical framework: rights and responsibilities, the four federal anti-discrimination Acts, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, consequences of breaches, and cultural safety in practice.
Respectful verbal and non-verbal communication, strategies for language barriers, working with interpreters (TIS National), and the difference between cultural awareness, cultural competence and cultural safety.
Spotting and resolving misunderstandings through a diversity lens, knowing when and who to ask for help, building inclusive relationships, and how inclusion shapes people and workplaces.
The full stack, not just content. Every file is built and has passed Stage 07 QA.

Assessment tasks are set in the People & Culture function of Ridgeline Group, a diversified Australian commercial group. Learners take the role of a People & Culture Coordinator responding to real diversity situations across the group's divisions. Diversity in a commercial workplace is completely authentic, so the unit needs no community-services setting and the buyer can rebrand the simorg to their own organisation.
The whole assessment is contained within the simorg, so learners do not need access to a real workplace (an own-workplace option is also provided).
All stages are complete through formatting, Stage 07 QA passed, and human moderation approved (including review of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander content). The unit is ready for delivery.
